2026/02/26 Chung Wen Elementary School - Teacher Kezia

The lesson began with vocabulary related to the Lunar New Year and their meanings, including firecrackers, rice cakes, pineapples, lucky money, lion dances, tangerines, and spring couplets.

Students then worked in pairs to participate in a vocabulary recognition activity on stage, competing in reaction speed. This activity enhanced classroom interaction and helped reinforce their memory of the vocabulary.

Next, the lesson moved on to the phonics section, focusing on the sounds “-ng” and “-nk.” Students compared pairs of words such as wing/wink, bang/bank, and sting/stink. After repeated whole-class reading practice, a listening exercise was conducted in which students circled the words they heard to assess their learning outcomes.
