2025/12/16 Giao Ping Elementary School - Teacher Amy

Today’s Topic: What’s Your Favorite Food in Chiayi? 🍽️

At the beginning of the lesson, Teacher Amy introduced the words delicious and disgusting, helping students learn how to express whether food tastes good or not in English.

Next, she gave examples of local Chiayi foods—such as douhua (tofu pudding), cold noodles, turkey rice, and sandpot fish head. Based on their own preferences, students shared in English whether they thought each food was delicious or disgusting. Starting from familiar everyday foods made English feel more natural, and every student was encouraged to confidently express their personal opinions.

Then it was time for speaking practice! Students worked in pairs to practice English conversations and used tablets to record each other. They practiced repeatedly, helped one another, and showed incredibly high participation and enthusiasm.

After uploading their videos, the whole class could watch each other’s work and leave comments:
👉 If they liked the same food, they commented “Me too!”
👉 If they also disliked it, they could say “Me neither.”

By discussing local foods, recording real conversations, and giving peer feedback, students not only practiced their English speaking skills but also built confidence and motivation.

English class really can be practical, engaging, and fun! 🌟
