2025 Immersion English Summer Camp – Shiuan Shin Elementary School

This year’s camp is hosted by Shiuan Shin Elementary School. The program begins with a warm welcome from the Director of Academic Affairs, who greets all participants with enthusiasm and encourages students to enjoy learning, explore bravely, and gain meaningful experiences throughout the camp.

This is followed by an exciting Opening Ceremony led by our enthusiastic foreign teachers. Through teacher introductions, camp rules, theme presentations, and warm-up activity briefings for each group, students gain a clearer understanding of the upcoming learning journey, officially launching this multicultural exploration experience.

Celi & Zoey | Mexico: Day of the Dead
Celi and Zoey introduced students to Mexico’s unique culture through the theme of the Day of the Dead. The warm-up activity was a “food matching memory game,” featuring cards of Mexican dishes such as tacos, nachos, burritos, and quesadillas. Students took turns flipping cards; when a matching pair appeared, they quickly pressed the card and shouted “Agritón!” The classroom was filled with cheers and excitement. Through the game, students naturally learned about Mexican cuisine while developing a stronger interest in global cultures.

Julian & Mabel | International Fashion
This group focused on International Fashion, guiding students to explore traditional clothing from around the world and design their own miniature fashion pieces, demonstrating creativity and aesthetic expression.

The warm-up activity, “Lucky Draw Challenge,” was equally engaging. Students drew country names in English from a surprise box, read them aloud, identified the correct flags from a selection, and then completed a basketball shooting challenge with three attempts each. By combining games with language and cultural learning, students became more familiar with country names and flags while broadening their international perspective.

Promise & Kezia | African Beadwork
This group introduced students to the beauty of African traditional craftsmanship through African beadwork. The warm-up activity, “Guess the Country by Landmark,” incorporated famous landmarks such as Machu Picchu, the Eiffel Tower, the Pyramids of Giza, and the Burj Khalifa. Students identified the countries these landmarks belong to, helping them understand global geography while deepening their appreciation of different cultures. The activity also strengthened their global awareness and cross-cultural understanding.

On the first day of the camp, students have already begun traveling the world alongside foreign teachers, exploring diverse cultures and gaining confidence in speaking English through interaction. We look forward to even more exciting lessons in the coming days, accompanying students as they continue to explore the world and grow joyfully.
