Topic: Chiayi East Market
Today, Ms. Promise guided the students to compare the differences between traditional markets and supermarkets, and encouraged them to express these differences in sentences. Then, the teacher shared her own shopping experience—at a traditional market, since prices were not displayed and no vendors could speak Chinese, it caused inconvenience during the transaction.
Therefore, Ms. Promise taught the students how to use the sentence patterns “How much...?” and “It’s ...”, and had them practice plural forms through pictures and quantities. Finally, Ms. Promise designed a situational activity where students worked in groups to play the roles of customers and shopkeepers, acting out market transactions in class.
