Today's Lesson: NCYU Insect Museum
🌟 Lesson Highlight: NCYU Insect Museum 🐛🦋
Continuing from last week’s introduction to the NCYU Insect Museum by Teacher Gerardo, today we learned all about the four stages of a butterfly's life cycle! From egg to caterpillar, pupa, and finally butterfly, the teacher not only introduced each word but also broke down the multisyllabic terms to help students practice pronunciation step by step. Example sentences were also used to aid memory.
After learning the vocabulary, we extended the lesson to explore the concept of “stages”, building a full understanding of the butterfly's life cycle 🐣➡️🦋.
To wrap up, the vocabulary from the past two weeks was turned into a super fun game of Connect 4! 🎯
The class was split into boys' and girls' teams, taking turns to answer questions. Each correct answer allowed a team to place a colour marker on the game board, aiming to connect four in a row. In the final round, things got more challenging—students had to make a sentence using the vocabulary word to score points.
Everyone participated enthusiastically, helping and encouraging one another, which greatly boosted their speaking practice. In the end, the girls’ team claimed victory!
The entire lesson was lively and engaging, allowing students to learn joyfully while gaining a lot from the experience!
