This lesson focused on Chiayi Park. Students began by looking at a photo of the Sun-Shooting Tower, learning about the park’s iconic landmarks and historical background. Using a city map, they practiced identifying the East and West Districts of Chiayi and located Chiayi Park in the East District.

The class then watched a short video for listening practice and worked in groups to complete a worksheet about the park’s key attractions, including the Sun-Shooting Tower, Chen Cheng-po’s artwork, and the old trees within the park.

During the speaking activity, students used their worksheets to practice introducing Chiayi Park in English. They presented in seven groups, supporting one another and demonstrating strong teamwork. After each presentation, the co-teacher provided feedback to encourage students to speak confidently and improve their oral expression.

Through this lesson, students not only strengthened their English communication skills but also gained a deeper appreciation of Chiayi City’s culture and beautiful scenery.
