Today's Lesson: Chiayi Art Museum
The lesson began with Teacher Wynne leading a quick review of the vocabulary from last week. She thoughtfully connected the vocabulary to items commonly found in everyday school life. This not only reinforced students' memory of the words but also trained their reaction skills through a card game that assessed their grasp of the vocabulary.
The lesson then moved on to the main topic: "What should/shouldn't we do in the museum?" Using expressive voice and body language, Teacher Wynne simulated a museum setting to vividly introduce new vocabulary for the lesson. Additionally, she posed thought-provoking questions such as, "What might happen if we use a flash?" to guide students toward deeper thinking and practical application of the vocabulary.
Finally, through games and group activities, the teacher reviewed the day’s content with the students. Using templates, students practiced constructing sentences and honed their speaking skills, while Teacher Wynne and the local teacher took turns providing guidance.
The lesson was well-rounded and engaging, encompassing listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Students gained a wealth of knowledge and benefited greatly from the experience!
