Lesson Topic: Mother's Day

• Students imitate their mothers’ behaviors.

• Discussion: What does your mother usually do for the family?

• Introduction to traditional clothing and appearance of South African mothers.

• Vocabulary: Words and phrases to describe mothers.

• Related Activity: Tower stacking – students first write adjectives on cards to describe their mothers. The group that stacks the highest tower wins. Afterwards, students read their adjectives in full sentences, e.g., “My mother is smart/beautiful/etc.”
