Today's Lesson Theme: NCYU Insect Museum 🐞🦋

Today, Teacher Innocent guided the students into the fascinating world of insects! Before diving into the main lesson, he invited the students to share the names of insects they already knew, which served as a fun and engaging warm-up to introduce the day’s topic.

During the lesson, the teacher helped students make associations by focusing on the insects’ physical features. For example, the Rhino Beetle has a horn that resembles a rhinoceros, while the Leaf Insect looks just like a leaf. These vivid characteristics left a strong impression on the students.

Next came the group activity! Students were divided into teams of five. Each team watched a video and had to identify the insect shown, then write its English name on the whiteboard. This game not only tested their spelling skills but also included a time-based team competition, making the classroom atmosphere lively and energetic. The game involved multiple rounds, giving every student a chance to participate in spelling while encouraging peer support and teamwork.

After the spelling challenge, the class moved into sentence pattern practice:

💬 “What insect can people see at the insect museum?”
💬 “They can see a ____. They can also see a ____.”

Through plenty of speaking practice, students not only reviewed the insect vocabulary but also gradually built up their confidence in speaking English. Some were even able to carry on conversations naturally with their classmates without relying on the blackboard.

With thoughtful planning and smooth coordination between Teacher Innocent and Co-Teacher Eva, every student had a chance to speak. Their efforts successfully created a dynamic and immersive English learning environment.
