Today’s lesson was revolved around the recognition of numbers and how to express the age. Teacher Sharmaine was adopting a variety of funny games and interactive activities to enhance students’ interest in learning English. The lesson began with “Number Hunt”, which guided them to find the number, one to ten, in different pictures shown on the screen; then the one came after was the introduction of the sentence pattern ”How old are you?” and the relevant responses. Students practiced the phonics and spelling during the activity, deepening the memory by textbook.
In the next session, Sharmaine invited everyone to ”Candle Count Challenge”. Students were requested to spell the number by counting candles with flame flickering. And next, students participated in “Speak and Shine” which requested them to record their reading, allowing them to check their own pronunciation of words. The diverse as well as elaborate activities arrangement was the highlight of today’s lesson.
