Today's Lesson: Art in Chiayi – Making Clay Sculptures

In the blink of an eye, this semester is already coming to an end!
Throughout this journey, our students have not only learned English but also explored the rich history and local culture of Chiayi.

Today, Mr. Connor guided everyone to become clay artists, using their hands to shape creations that best represent Chiayi! He also shared clay works from other classes to inspire the students. So, what do you think best represents Chiayi?

Is it the iconic Chiayi turkey rice 🍚? The legendary KANO baseball team ⚾? Or the must-visit Hinoki Village 🌲?

Among the students’ creations, we were surprised and delighted to find the big white bear from Chiayi Station, and even Chiayi’s city flower — the Hong Kong Orchid Tree 🌸. Each piece was full of imagination and heart — it’s amazing to see how vibrant and meaningful Chiayi is through the eyes of our students.

Next week, we’ll take time to appreciate each other’s works and learn how to express compliments in English. We can’t wait to see the students confidently share their creations and learn to appreciate one another’s unique perspectives!
