Lesson: Chiayi East Market

• Ms. Zoey asked the students whether they prefer traditional markets or modern supermarkets, leading into the traditional market — Chiayi East Market.

• Ms. Zoey introduced the building materials and foods found in Chiayi East Market. Students watched two videos — one about the history of Chiayi East Market, and the other showing 4 students of Minzu Elementary on a food tour to the Chiayi East market.

• Ms. Zoey asked students about the foods shown in the videos and also introduced a street kitchen from South Africa called “One-big-kitchen.”
